range of acceptable torque, and in many cases the range is wide enough that I feel comfortable with even a 10% error in the HF torque setting. I also tend to step up the torque while tightening something down just to make sure it feels reasonable. I can set it to 20ft-lb, and then 30ft-lb, and it'll definitely click the 2nd time around with only a little additional rotation from the bolt. Also, just make sure you return your torque setting back to 0ft-lb after each use.
